Hainan Tropical Botanical Garden - Treasure House of Plant Resources, and Famous in Southland

 

 

The Hainan Tropical Botanical Garden located in the western suburbs of Nada Town, Danzhou, is the herbarium parks of the Hainan University Danzhou Campus (formerly the South China University of Tropical Agriculture), and the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agriculture Science, covering 32 hectares, and founded in 1958. The park has more than 1000 kinds of rare tropical plants from over 40 countries, and is the treasure house of tropical plant resources in China, and also a microcosm of the world's tropical crop resources. The garden has seven zones represented by the existing precious tropical trees, the tropical spice plants, the tropical medicinal plants, the tropical fruit, the tropical oil plants and the tropical ornamental plants, and constitutes an attraction truly worth visiting. The characteristic plant species include mainly the love trees, the "Antiaris" trees, and the cannonball trees.
